Yesterday, June 13, news broke that the member of parliament for Dormaa Central is coronavirus positive.
Few hours later seasoned journalist Afia Pokuaa with despite media disclosed on her Facebook page that the minister had told her that the reports are false.
According to Afia the health minister said he was just resting, see what Afia shared on her Facebook page.
But today during, President Akufo-Addo during his 11th address to Ghanaians on the measure that have been taken as a country to deal with the spread of the virus confirmed that the Minister has actually tested positive the virus.
In his speech, Nana Addo at the tail end of his address took time off to wish the health minister a speedy recovery after coming into contact with the virus while in the line of duty.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has confirmed that the Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, K.K. Sam died of COVID-19.
IN his address to the country on Sunday, June 14, 2020, the president who described the late MCE as “an old and valiant colleague in the struggle of the New Patriotic Party” said “may his soul rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Almighty until the Last Day of the Resurrection when we shall all meet again.”
Currently, Ghana’s COVID-19 case count stands at 11,964 with 4,258 recoveries and 54 deaths.
