Hearts of Oak Appoints Former Player As Interim Coach


The Board of directors of Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed former player of the club as the interim head coach.

Laryea Kingston, a former player of Hearts of Oak steps in to replace former head coach Kosta Papic who resigned from his position earlier this week.



The 40-year-old has had his coaching attachment at FC Nordsjaelland and its affiliate club Right to Dream Academy to enrich his CV as a professional coach.

Playing for the club in 2000s the ex-Black Stars right winger will take his first task as the club plays Ebusua Dwarfs this weekend match-week 15 game. 

In his active career Kingston played with local and international clubs in Europe including Al Ittihad, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Locomotiv Moscow, Heart of Midlothian, Vitesse Arnhem among others.

He made 41 caps, scoring six times during his days with the senior national team between 2002 to 2010.

Note his brother Richard Kingston is the new goalkeepers trainer for the Hearts of Oak.
