Obuasi Ashanti Gold recorded a narrow win over Accra Hearts of Oak at the Len Clay sports stadium in the match day 19 fixture.

The visiting Phobian team started the game on a higher note with a hope of getting all the maximum three points in the match while Ashanti Gold came in with determined spirit.



Both sides tried all possible means to get the first goal in the first half of the game buy all efforts was wasteful.

Hearts of Oak pressing lead to a penalty in the 15th minute, after Patrick Razak was brought down in the box for penalty.

Striker Victor Aidoo took the opportunity to put his side up in the game but he was not luck as it was saved by goalkeeper Kofi Mensah.

Hearts of Oak Benjamin Mensah denied a goal by the ‘Aboa kese3’ side in the 40th minute as he pulled a fine stop.

In the early stages of the second half the ‘Miners’ centre-back Frank Akoto went down on the pitch for the second time and had to be stretched off, and was replaced by Samed Ibrahim.

Hearts of Oak mounted pressure on Ash Gold which resulted to a corner kick which was a long one floated into the box but Kofi Mensah to the rescue as he comes off his line to jump and high to grab that one.

The Miners got a counter break, but Fatawu Mohammed came in timely to save his side.

AshantiGold SC awarded a penalty in the dying embers of the game after Fatawu Mohammed was penalised for handling the ball in the penalty box. Amos Addai made no mistake by neatly converting into the net to hand the host the lead on the 92nd minute.

Amos Addai scored the only in the 95th minute through a spot kick.

Therefore, at the end of the host Ashanti Gold grinds all three points in the end

Sammed Mohammed won the man of the match award.

Elsewhere Liberty Professionals humiliated Elmina Sharks by 4:0. In the 36th minute Paul Kwame header opened the scores for the scientific soccer lads.

Simon Appiah added the second goal for Liberty in the 60th minute. Liberty fought harder as they got the third goal through a spot kick and was by Kweku Karikari in the 80th minute.

William Opoku Mensah cemented the victory for Liberty as he scores the forth goal in the 89th minute.
