Speculation surrounding Pirlo’s future has continued to circle over the past couple of months and following the announcement he’d been relieved of his duties it’s now been confirmed that former boss Allegri has been re-appointed as manager.

Allegri spent five successful years in Turin before being dismissed in 2019. His tenure saw the club notch the Serie A title in every one of his five seasons at the helm as well as securing four Coppa Italia crowns,

News of Allegri’s return to the Allianz Stadium will come as no surprise given the amount of rumours suggesting he could return this summer, with Juventus taking to their official website to confirm the news.

“Massimiliano Allegri is the Juventus manager once more.

“Allegri finds a bench that he knows very well, a club that he loves and that loves him back, as today a new journey begins together, towards new goals”, the statement read.

What he achieved in his first adventure at Juventus are engraved in the club’s history: five Scudetti, to the four-consecutive doubles, coupled with the Coppa Italia and to the two Super Cups, reaching two Champions League finals in just three seasons, in what were epic feats both in Italy and in Europe.

Juventus wasted no time at all in appointing Allegri following Pirlo’s departure, a move which could prove to be a wise one given the amount of top clubs who are in the market for a new boss this summer.
